Robert L. Ranco
Senior Trial Attorney
Experience. Compassion. Results.
Experience. After more than 23 years in practice, Rob has built a reputation as one of the most effective and successful personal injury litigators in Texas. Prior to joining Bafidis Law Rob worked as a Partner and Director of Litigation at some of the most prestigious firms in the state.
A graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Maine School of Law, Robert has spent his entire career representing injured Texans. Since 2001 he has represented more than 2,000 clients in cases involving personal injuries and Civil Rights.
Ranco is also Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (TBLS). While many accolades advertised by lawyers are meaningless and are simply available for purchase, Board Certification is a truly elite designation. To be Board Certified an attorney must demonstrate significant experience in the particular area of practice, obtain recommendations from the attorney’s peers (including some opponents), and judges. Then the attorney must pass an additional test (beyond the Bar Exam) demonstrating advanced knowledge in the subject area to obtain this designation from
the state of Texas.
Because the standards are so rigorous, only 6% of Texas attorneys are Board Certified.
Ranco has litigated hundreds of cases and taken more than 30 cases to jury trial.
Compassion. Ranco joined Bafidis Law because he and Alfonso Bafidis share the same client-centric approach to practicing law. As Ranco says, “It is an incredible honor
when a person entrusts me to assist in what might be their most difficult and vulnerable time. Being injured in an accident can be devastating physically, emotionally, and financially. It’s our job to ease our clients’ burden and provide support in any way we can. My goal is to diminish my client’s stress level by taking the insurance headaches off their plate and allowing them to focus on getting well.” This is precisely how Bafidis
Law approaches each case for every unique client.
Ranco prides himself on being an honest and effective communicator who is always available and responsive to his clients. As Ranco says, “You can’t be an effective personal injury litigator if you don’t actually care about your clients. I care and my clients see that through my representation. I’ve been blessed throughout my career that dozens of past clients come back to me or refer their family members to me – sometimes many years after their initial case.”
Results. The most important factor to consider for an injured person who is shopping for a lawyer is to consider that lawyer’s past results. If you have been involved in personal injuries or Civil Rights violations it is important to seek out a specialist in that area who has a track record of success.
Rob gets results.
Over his career, Rob has obtained numerous results exceeding a million dollars, and even had had the largest Civil Rights jury verdict in the entire state of Texas for 2016 (Hernandez v. City of Austin).
While many personal injury attorneys will settle cases below the proper value to resolve the case more quickly, the cornerstone of Ranco’s practice since 2001 has been a
commitment to seek full and fair value for every client. While settlements are always preferable because they eliminate risk for the client, too often insurance companies and large corporations refuse to offer a fair amount to settle the case. When this occurs, a lawyer must be able and willing to take the case to the courtroom and present it to the jury.
Rob, his team, and Bafidis Law stay ready.
Personal: Rob and his wife, Tonia, have four adult children together and they reside in the Austin area. Ranco is a censused member of the Penobscot Nation. He plays piano
and enjoys attending concerts with his wife.
